23 of February 1981- A failed Military Coup
We saw some images of the attempted military coup on the 23 of February 1981 in the period of consolidation of the Democratic Transition. What is your opinion of this event ? Does the involvement of the military surprise you? Could you ever imagine this occurring in the United States?

I was present in Valencia on this day. It was on this day in Valencia that the final judging of a Toy Invention Competition run by the Bank of Valencia took place in the Trade Exhibition Center. Until the judging took place participants in this competition were told that we would be present at the judging and able to present and explain the toy ideas to the judges. However when the time arrived the judges arrived at the indoor venue in military vehicles. They all appeared to be in Military uniform. They went inside and the doors were locked, they must have been important military personnel No explanation was given to the inventors. We sat outside the plate glass windows wondering while a great deal of alcohol was consumed inside, meanwhile the attempted coup took place and tanks appeared on the streets of Valencia. I'm not much of a news person but this time I realised that detail of events must often be missing from the consumer "news". Congratulations to Julian Assange for showing us more of the devils in the details. The toy invention competition was won by a mini military jeep with photo voltaic light sensing cells. The toy was battery powered and as it moved around was able to avoid bumping into people and furniture.
