Many Spaniards saw this picture and began questioning Zapatero's abilities as Prime Minister as well as being a father. If he is not able to get his daughters to look presentable then how would he be able to lead a country? On one hand I do think it is very harsh to suddenly doubt his capabilities because his daughters have been given their freedom for dressing as they choose to, but at the same time being Prime Minister entails certain responsibilities of how a family should appear whether or not they like it. I think that most people who dislike Zapatero had those opinions before this picture and this was just another reason for them to feel the way they do.
