Immigration

Due to the fact that the un-employment has shot up in 2009 to 20% immigrants are finding work sparse and low paying. In a survey done immigrants report that there are fewer jobs and they are more low paying. The high un-employment hasn't had the same effect as the United States has seen in the immigration of Latin Americans instead many immigrant would rather stay in Spain because the situation is better there. However immigration has decreased from sub-saharan Africa and Romania. The lul is due to the large number of immigrants telling friends at home that life is harder now.The spanish government has now made it harder for immigrants to get work permits they believe the immigrants are using this to gain residency in Spain. This will allow them to collect unempoyment benefits. Spain has offered a return program for all immigrants who want to go back to their country of origin. The program includes flight and financial assistance in the return voyage. However the Spainish govenment was concerned that the immigrants would show signs of radicalism but the interviews show that no such frustration exists.
